--> Chat Dialogue Width

Im designing various roll templates... I know it can be expanded by a player, but does anyone know the standard (if there is one) width for the chat dialogue in the roll20app (the far right pane where the chat and RollTemplates appear... I would like to use some background imaging for some of my templates... But need to know the default size i have to play with. (hopefully this isn't platform specific). (I'm aware of the -37 px margin technique to utilize the full chat dialogue width removing the avatar space) Thanks !

I don't off the top of my head, but I'd just inspect the area and see what the chat area is. Keep in mind that this changes based on whether there is a chat avatar displayed or not.

Hey Scott thanks for the reply, i've been trying already with inspect... Im aware of the avatar space and techniques to remove it.. I'm worried about the various supported form factors, resizing etc etc....  Wondered if there was a best practice thought out there...

I'd use an image that can be nine sliced and then repeated seamlessly. EDIT: Or, set your roll template to have a maximum width (probably the default chat pane width)

Thanks for your reply... I have the dimensions of some of the other roll templates... (from github) I was hoping to avoid nine slicing... Project has scope creep as it is : ) Was hoping for a single nice background image though.. (rather than a saleable texture/sprite) Some like the standard roll20 5E templates have very small image widths (and a lot of lost space to the right) just wondering if they know something i don't....
